Dashboard error (HTTP 500 Internal Server Error)

Clicking on WP Cerber in the admin dashboard left sidebar shows “There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.”

I can still access the Traffic Inspector and can see a “HTTP 500 Internal Server Error”

PostSMTP plugin has been disabled with no effect. The site cannot (and does not need to) send emails, so no admin email.

WP, theme (storefront) and all plugins are up to date.

To help us get to the bottom of this, we need a bit more info from you. Could you please check your server error log and send us the details?

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Access your web server error log: You can usually find this in your hosting control panel (like cPanel, Plesk, etc.) or through SSH/SFTP if you have access.
  2. Find the error log file: In most cases it’s error_log or something similar, and it might be in the /logs/ directory or your website’s root directory.
  3. Look for the error entries: Check for any errors around the time you saw the “HTTP 500 Internal Server Error” or the critical error message in WP Cerber. Search for PHP Fatal error. There should be the wp-cerber string in the error message.

Once you find the relevant error details, please share them with us. This will help us figure out what’s going wrong and how to fix it.
