Today, US white house removed PCLOB (Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board), hence making DPF (EU-US Data Privacy Framework) adequacy NOT meeting requirements of “essential equivalence”, and will be terminated soon.
Meaning europe as a whole will not be able to use google’s reCAPTCHA anymore.
We then need an alternative for reCAPTCHA, either in the form of an addon, or natively…

Hi! The political uncertainty in the US is still in full swing, and no one except Trump knows where this will end up. The situation is still unfolding, and no final decision has been made. If the EU invalidates the DPF, reCAPTCHA may become non-compliant with GDPR. For now, let’s wait for official decisions. Website owners will have time to switch to an alternative anti-spam solution if needed. Such changes don’t happen overnight and aren’t enforced immediately.
What form are you currently protecting with reCAPTCHA?
I’m currently using it for account-related operations: registration, login and password reset.
You can switch to WP Cerber’s Anti-spam engine, which doesn’t send submitted form data to any cloud. Give it a try.
